Who are we?

Our MissioN

Badges and Paws’ mission is to support and shelter animals while their owners navigate the justice system.

Wagoner County deputies routinely encounter animals in need of care and attention when responding to all manner of calls. Whether calls of neglect or abuse, or those that require animals’ owners be jailed or incarcerated, animals are often left to fend for themselves through no fault of their own.

Because Wagoner County is not large enough to fund an animal shelter, deputies often have  to scramble for resources to temporarily shelter or care for animals while their owners work their way through the system.

Wagoner County Cares

Wagoner County residents and businesses care about animals, and Badges and Paws is our chance to show just how much. We are a collaboration between the Wagoner County Fraternal Order of Police, the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office, and the community of Wagoner County.

Whether you’re a ranch owner with extra land, a resident with a little extra room, a veterinarian with a heart for charity, or a supporter who has a few dollars to spare, we need you to be part of Badges and Paws to make it a success.

Our Core Values

Badges and Paws works to ease the stress and fear associated with being abused, neglected, or separated from an owner entangled in the criminal justice system.
